Charitably you're arguing the toss because you can't think of anything better to do with your time; you started out with arguing that LF posted something they hadn't and you kept banging on every time thereafter. Do you just like having arguments?

WSC is not an insurrectionist nor is there a living former prime minister who has been accused of and charged with the offence of insurrection running interference for a statue of him or a park bearing his name. There is no parallel to be drawn.

When I think it's worth it, sure I'll argue - especially when accused of defending white supremacists.

Trump threatened a terrorist to his face. He told the Taliban leader he would kill him if any Americans got touched by the Taliban, then pulled out a satelite photo of Taliban leaders house and left.

Community note on that:

'Former President Donald Trump did not meet Taliban leaders and threaten them during his time in office. Mike Pompeo is the one who met and threatened Taliban leader Mullah Abdul Ghani Barada with aggression'.

No community note showing for me? Is it just a suggested note?

Yes, a suggested note at this stage.

He didn't meet the Taliban. Why would he? They weren't about to offer him money.

The sad thing is that he and the people that surround him are so fundamentally and relentlessly dishonest that it is best to assume that everything they say is a lie and be pleasantly surprised if it turns out it wasn't.

trump invited the taliban to camp david, tried negotiating a peace plan without President Ashraf Ghani of Afghanistan, pulled the troops out of Afghanistan and boasted there was nothing Biden could do to stop it.

It was a Bolton, Pompeo thing, trump wanted it as a photo op.

Press pool reporting on Bidens comments on his poor debate at a fundraiser in Virginia

Biden admitted that he did not have a good debate, said he "wasn't very smart" for "traveling around the world a couple times" before the debate.
"I decided to travel around the world a couple of times … shortly before the debate … I didn't listen to my staff … and then I almost fell asleep on stage."

He apologised by saying he was sorry for the performance but stressed that it was "critical" to win the election. "It's not an excuse but an explanation."

In a NY Times report on Bidens health, they balance it with

"Mr. trump, 78, has also shown signs of slipping over the years since he was first elected to the White House. He often confuses names and details and makes statements that are incoherent. He maintains a lighter public schedule than Mr. Biden, does not exercise and repeatedly appeared to fall asleep in the middle of his recent hush money trial. His campaign has released only a three-paragraph health summary."

Opinion piece pointing out that Justice Roberts took away the separation of WH and DOJ prosecutions, that a “president may discuss potential investigations and prosecutions with his Attorney General and other Justice Department officials …” and that “the Attorney General, as head of the Justice Department, acts as the President’s ‘chief law enforcement officer’ who ‘provides vital assistance to [him]…”

This permits trump if he gets in power again to use the Justice department to prosecute his perceived enemies

Justice Sonia Sotomayor dissented “The Republican appointed-majority in this opinion has … opened the door to a President exercising wide dictatorial powers without any ultimate legal accountability for his actions.”

The opinion piece points out trumps recent threats to Liz Cheney, and a post from trump that included photos of 15 former and current elected officials that said, in all-capital letters, “they should be going to jail on Monday not Steve Bannon!” The list included President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Senators Mitch McConnell and Chuck Schumer and former Vice President Mike Pence, and members of the House committee that investigated the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, including Ms. Cheney and the former Illinois Congressman Adam Kinzinger, another Republican, and the Democratic Representatives Adam Schiff, Jamie Raskin, Pete Aguilar, Zoe Lofgren, and Bennie
Thompson, who chaired the committee.

Instead he allowed the deaths of over a million plus people due to blocking food from being shipped to them. Do you understand why some might regard that as just as bad as insurrection? That’s why there is a lot of hate from some for his statues and views they should be torn down. To just make it about a tiny aspect and ignore other massive ones that could get people very passionate and have similar views is again the sort of thing we should avoid.

It’s also odd that being in a protest about a statue where a bunch of people are racist makes you racist immediately. Some of the BLM protests had unfortunately violent rioters in them who went on looting sprees and so on. It doesn’t therefore mean all BLM marchers are therefore criminals and rioters. That’s the sort of thing the right wing nutters tried to insinuate - or say directly. It’s not, a protest can have many type of people involved, who may have very different agendas and reasons for marching. To say it makes them all the most extreme ‘x’ in the march is a bit strange.

That said, personally I would have left a march if I’d seen a lot of the disgusting white supremacist lots, same as if I saw a bunch of anarchists appear who sometimes take over protests in the UK and turn them bad.
