Hang on- it gets worse...

"Testimony or private records of the President or his advisers probing such conduct may not be admitted as evidence at trial."

WTF!
So basically wipes out all his charges ?
Staggering. They’re going full old skool monarch then.

I suppose the do realise they just gave the same immunity to Biden, who could just ban Trump from running
That would be delicious but dangerous. Hopefully it will be unnecessary if the analysis above that there are enough sensible voters in the US to wipe trump out at the election comes to pass. I believe that's what will happen, and that the 'polls' suggesting it's a close run thing are simply media fabrications designed to keep the clickometers turning.

I find it strange that Trump supporters are Republicans, republicans by definition are anti-Monarchy, yet they support someone who behaves like a King who is beyond the law. What kind of nonsense is that?
The current Republican party aren't what they used to be, it's morphed into a party that is mostly about stripping as much money from its supporters as possible. And the new generation of supporters are mostly focused on woke/ racism etc. Quite a few of the traditional Republicans, including politicians who stood against Obama etc are going to vote Democrat as a result.
Just like the Conservative party here in the UK, they only care about themselves not the people or Country they're supposed to serve and represent.

Not so easy.

At that point you've broken the chain of command. Legality of orders are drilled into officers. You will be held accountable for following an illegal order.

A senator cannot give a soldier an order, an unexpected civilian has no chance. Orders start with the Joint Chiefs.

SCOTUS can't change laws or the constitution. They can only interpret them.

Given how Trump relied on organisations like BorTac for enforcement I don't think he's been successful in corrupting the military... If he were he would have used them on Jan 6
Technically, the Joint Chiefs are not part of the operational chain of command and only serve the President in an advisory role. Under the Goldwater-Nichols act, orders flow from the President through the Secretary of Defense direct to the Combatant Commanders in charge of the 11 Unified Combatant Commands.

Several suggestions that Biden take advantage of additional powers under now-protected "official acts."

"Seriously, Pres. Biden needs to take this little 'immunity for official acts' protection out for a little spin,"
https://x.com/cmclymer/status/1807798456091607437

"President Biden’s FIRST act under this new reality should be to postpone the election indefinitely until we can figure WTF is going on."

Monica Lewinsky
"Biden should delay the election until all Trump's indictments are adjudicated."
https://x.com/MonicaLewinsky/status/18078046729312...

Marcy Wheeler noted the ongoing battle between the Justice Department and House Judiciary and Oversight committees over recordings of his interview with special counsel Robert Hur.

"Biden should just order them destroyed," she suggested.

Tristian Snell:
Biden's first act with his presidential immunity:

March the FBI into Mar-a-Lago, Bedminster, and Trump Tower right now, finding every single last government document, every computer, every second of security camera footage, everything -- in the name of national security.
https://x.com/TristanSnell/status/1807810909915566...

Also that Biden should create 4 new scotus seats by executive order and create a binding ethics code with punishments
https://x.com/TristanSnell/status/1807820076315242...
Agreed, it’s a proper “”mask off” moment for Democrats, they’re no better than those they consider themselves morally superior to.
Where are the Dems suggesting doing this?
Remember it was trump weaponisting the govt against those he felt agrieved by - basically those who said no to him

Hardly controversial on an objective basis, but MAGA would be destroyed instantly hehe
Unfortunately I don’t believe creating laws falls within presidential powers; yet, perversely granting pardons does!
Especially if you can sell them

JD Vance told Axios, "You have to ask yourself: How many true allies of the agenda existed in the United States Capitol in January 2017, and how many will exist in January of 2025? You have a Republican Party that, in some ways, was divided against itself in January of 2017. I think now it recognizes that trump is effectively leader of the party. And you'll see that in governing style and certainly in agenda."

As the article claims "A reelected trump would quickly set up vast camps and deport millions of people in the U.S. illegally," "In Washington, trump would move to fire potentially tens of thousands of civil servants using a controversial interpretation of law and procedure" and would "replace many of them with pre-vetted loyalists," and "He'd centralize power over the Justice Department, historically an independent check on presidential power."

Jailed Maga mob member Reffitt's son isn't happy trump effectively been let off

“If trump was not involved, my father would have never been there. He would have never heard that language to incite him to really think that he’s doing something good, that he’s going to protect the country, that he’s going to fight for it.”

Reffitt accused trump of rallying others to do his bidding, and then leaving them to pay the consequences while he gets off scott free.

Opens the door completely to trump stealing the next election - in fact Scotus gave him permission to do it and pointed out all the advantages to him doing it

I'm expecting him to lose it with votes, then those 'fake' elector scheme comes back in so trump gets the electoral college votes and it's all signed off as legal.

Thats what trump means when he says "I don't need the votes"
You seen to forget that he's not the President right now. When he loses he loses. The special powers belong to the President - Joe Biden.

What if he steals it and claims that the whole process of stealing it was an official act.

He's not the President. None of his acts are official. And presumably, under the new rules, Biden can refuse to accept the results in say Texas and Ohio and declare himself the winner by a landslide.

What planet are you on? You listed 8.

Trump doled out more lies than that in last week's 90 minute debate alone

How do you know his golf handicap?

My friend is 45 and an architect. Totally unassuming kind of guy, and he plays off a handicap of 1.

They both lie ridiculously, Biden told a long list of lies at the debate and CNN rightly listed them all in a fact check.

These fact check websites have been weaponised by both sides anyway as they get very literal in their interpretation of what either side says. Something stared as an opinion usually gets fact checked and ruled false when it was never meant to be a definitive statement anyway. Although there have been some delicious ones along the way, especially when Snopes finally fact checked the “very fine people” comments.
