He wouldn't get embroiled in stupid arguments with Trump about who was better at golf either!
I'm still as incredulous as I was when I heard that live.

I know this is the Orange Man Bad thread, but Newsom?

Have you asked anyone in California and outside it how they feel about him? I might be wrong of course.

I posted this on the Biden thread but it attempts to answer your Q.

Probable leading contenders would be the democrat governors in purple states like Andy Beshear, Gretchen Whitmer, Josh Shapiro etc. as they have proven appeal to swing voters, track records of getting elected and running a state. Newsome gets mentioned a lot and has name recognition but as governor of California his ability to appeal to swing voters is less proven.

Thanks. I don't know the others, there must be strong candidates with less problematic track records and some visible inner steel. I'll research those. The Dems deserve better (and so does the US)

If Dems f*ck this up it is a purely self inflicted wound.

Biden just focusing on himself. Doesn’t want to go down in history as a one term president. If he really cared about the US he would step aside and let someone else challenge Trump.

What a great night for Donald Trump.

Biden was a disaster. The real question is who is really in control of the Democrats?

Department of Homeland Security figures show 4.2 million into US including 1.6 million’gotaways’ across the US border from February 2021 this is totally unacceptable.

It like a plan to flood the country with immigrants and then get them all to vote for you,I think I’ve seen this before somewhere.

Trump is getting stronger and stronger.

Takes years and years, as people on thread have explained.

If Trump gave any sts about reducing the crossings he wouldn't have got his proxies in Congress to vote against 4 border control bills, one of which was drafted entirely by Republicans.

The point is they can and will in time vote.

Americans are waking up to what is happening including many black and hispanic people.

Amazing how all the Trump fans have suddenly burst forth from the skirting boards. It's almost as if there's absolutely nothing positive to say in Trump's favour, but when his opponent wobbles it's all guns gleefully to the fore.

I hope for the sake of the USA and the wider world that the Dems eject Biden immediately. It's an absolute imperative now to prevent the end of democracy and the beginning of dictatorship in the States. They must present an electable candidate, and do it now.

Was explained very well last week on TRiP by Mooch v-a-v the assimilation of second and third generations and the changes in their voting patterns and hence the laziness of viewing these groups as a single homogeneous unit.

Takes decades though - it's a very long game being played here, assuming it is as you suggest.

Trump fans, you just can't help yourself and I agree there wasn't anything positive from Trump but that's clearly not the issue.

The bold needed to happen months ago to avoid Trump getting back into office.

Go on then, who? Name them…

I can think of 1 maybe 1.5 names on her since the debate last night that might be Trump “fan”. So which posters are you considering these bursting forth Trump fans?

Only if they become citizens, and if that's the case then they are perfectly entitled to vote, and they can vote for any party.

America is mostly a country of immigrants and decendants of immigrants just as those black and hispaic (and European/Caucasian) people are.

I have been saying for a very long time that Biden is disastrous. No change in my view of him. Good domestic achievements, terrible and incompetent on foreign policy and way past it. Just because Trump is even worse does not mean Biden is up to the job.

Hmmm.....you may be wasting your time, though I'm not sure what half a Poster is.
