CNN reporter Alayna Treene says team trump are panicking about the debate, which is why they've decided to target Jake Tapper.

Apparently trumps campaign has been begging trump to make the debate about issues rather than his usual rant about hie perceived personal grievances, but as usual trump won't listen and thinks he knows best.

Hence the huge amount of pre-spin, using the same tactics as his trials, claiming everything is rigged...

Morning Joe thinks team trump expect him to perform poorly, but then they'll distract with a VP announcement

Well no, because you just posted about it?

But yeah big gains in the past 24 hours, be interesting to know why - bullish expectation he'll get elected?
I'm sure I saw it posted here previously when it was dropping. Maybe a different thread.

In any case, it looks like it's going down today.

LOL Boebart ripped off trump.

Boebert showed up to her victory party last night wearing Trump sneakers, but it turns out they were fake imitations not sold by trump that were Made in China.

Unlike the real things which were probably also made in China?

The trainers are made by CIC Ventures LLC. This is a company trump reported owning in his 2023 disclosures.
However on the website there the claim that "trump Sneakers are not designed, manufactured, distributed or sold by donald j. trump."

CIC address is his golf course in West Palm Beach - AKA Trump International

Allegedly the shoes are made in Sheridan, Wyoming, by a company called 45Footwear started just a few days before trumps publicising them. Allegedly a limited run of 1000, they should start shipping next month.

The copies you could buy from Aliexpress/Temu for under a tenner

Given all his other tat is made in china I'd be surprised if it's actually made there; how strict are they with scams like sewing the labels on in the US?

It was....and also when it was going up. Its a thread about DJT the person rather than DJT the stock so all movements don't need to be posted.

Whatever price it is, its overvalued. It shouldn't be worth anything...

It has the revenue of a McDonalds restaurant, yet is trying to compete with the big boys of Social Media.

There are a lot of tariffs applied on shipments from China to the US, so more than likely made in Vietnam or Bangladesh. The customs are pretty hot on applying the tariffs in my line of work, so I can't see why other products wouldn't also get the same treatment.

Do the other founding owners have enough stock to sink the thing by cashing out before TFG? That would be quite funny.

Anne Hathaway on why trump’s overturning Roe v. Wade is against womens rights

Trump must be the most powerful president ever since he's also seemingly the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court
You are a very tiresome troll for TFG, aren’t you!
You do know he boasted how they broke Roe v Wade, right?

Plenty of sources for you to go check that: here’s just one of MANY: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/apr/12/do...

Yet you pop in here to foam whataboutery and nonsense.

Present some positive information to help people: explain why you feel Trump is the right man for #47

I delve into Truth Social from time to time, mostly to berate the tangerine turd and his team, & the one thing I find is that his supporters have pretty well zero ability to explain why they follow his ravings.
You might lash out and call me a troll but for a place that claims to hold the intellectual and moral high ground, saying that Trump overturned Roe v Wade isn't a good look.

The three branches of government are usually explained in 7th to 8th grade, so 12 year old kids usually have a grasp of that concept. Separating facts from emotions in disagreements to avoid lashing out is taught to kids even younger and by the age of 7 there is also usually a good grasp of that concept.
Trump and his followers seem to struggle with that concept. When you commit crimes its dealt with by the justice system no matter how much you rant about Biden.

They also seem to have a problem understanding who can vote. Illegal immigrants can't vote. Even I know that and I would guess most 12 year olds do?

Maybe you could get a 12 year old to explain it to Trump.
I fear you are wasting your time, 98elise

Becuase it's absolutely hilarious that depending on who we are talking about, the rules seem to change.

Fact check website goes against Trump - very good, no questioning and trusted as fact checking source
Fact check website actually backs up Trump - not correct, missed the point, wrong

Biden brings down inflation - very good, fantastic economic record
Biden inflation goes up - president has nothing to do with inflation

Poll favours Biden - Biden winning, doing so well
Poll favours Trump - Can't trust polls, polls are unreliable

Trump speech using "inflammatory" language at rally - Terrible, dogwhistle, incititng violence
Democrat uses incendiary language in an area where violent crime rate is double the national average - You just don't like the fact she is a woman hehe

It's the hypocricy which is fascinating to me, and what keeps me coming back.
Personally, I think you’ve made a few fair and accurate points.

I have recently found myself mellowing slightly towards Alastair Campbell, partly, because I find myself agreeing with some of his statements. And then I realise, I have entrenched views (perfectly reasonable and thought through ones,) and when AC happens to echo some of my own views, I start to warm to him and agree with what I think are his thoughts - they’re really not! They are just mine??

A good mate challenged me a while ago about my own views about Trump and his MAGA loons; he asked why my opinion is right and carries more weight than the opposing view? To most of my points in reply, his response was calmly to explain, from a MAGA viewpoint, why I might be wrong.

It was a useful exercise to be honest smile

I do wish we had a more balanced discourse in this thread but I fear that is next to impossible and not for obvious reasons - it is quite difficult to defend a lot of Trump’s faults and lies so I think many don’t bother as ‘we won’t listen to reason and facts so why bother?’ Etc etc.

Ps. - I really have an issue with job numbers; Trump lost record numbers of jobs (during a pandemic) while Biden has record increases in job numbers (recovering from a pandemic low?). Doh! What a surprise…… does anybody stop and think how shallow the argument becomes when comparisons are so obviously unfair?

Job numbers, well to a certain extent both camps are right about jobs

trump inherited Obamas economy, didn't do much to screw it up, apart from his stupid tariff wars, generally because of his lazyness - watching TV until luchtime, stil running his business, golf etc.

Under trump, the economy added roughly 7 million new jobs in the first 3 years, but then trumps mismanagement of covid, shutdowns etc from Covid meant he ultimately ended his term with a net loss of 3 million jobs.

For the recovery, Biden smashed records by adding 6.6 million jobs in his first year in office, but that was the covid recovery,. However Biden has kept that recovery going. Joblessness has been below 4 percent for two years, which hasn’t happened since the 1960s.

That’s all well and good. I’d love to have a debate with the Trump supporters about what they think is positive about their guy. The only problem is that none of the Trump supporters want to say why they support him, or discuss any of his policies, or his politics, or defend his legal woes. They just want to say “hurrr durrr Biden is old, senile” and so on. That’s why they get mocked heavily. Pinkhouse tried to justify his position, but as soon as he got questioned about them started to complain about bias and have a little cry.

Yup. Some things are surely inexcusable!

Maybe his mate knocks up a porn star when his wife is pregnant, & sees that as a positive trait….maybe he admires someone who fleeces the government coffers by hosting things at his private home, who is smart enough to steal all those documents, etc etc.

Here’s the thing I notice on Truth Social: none of his MAGA supporters are ever able to give any good reasons to back their guy: only that Biden is older…..well, that’s a draw, although Trump does act more like A SIX YEAR OLD with his rants…..but the rest….
