Imagine having a functioning brain and thinking Labour could actually be worse.
Oh dear, memories of Gordon Brown come flooding back. But, if your old enough to remember Michael Foot you'll know anything's possible with the poor abilities of our current bunch of politicians. ![rofl](/inc/images/rofl.gif)

No they can’t.
That’s the point. This isn’t like the 1997 election, where rightly or wrongly people looked at Blair and thought “This time it might be different, this time things might change,”
We are going into this with two parties who are basically exactly the same and are unable to face up to the real issues that are confronting real people.
Things aren’t going to go anywhere with these two parties sticking their heads in the sand.
To move forward, this country needs massive change. Politically, culturally, financially and morally and no one is prepared to anything except rearrange the deck chairs as the iceberg scrapes along the side.

The most cringe thing about playing that song is how naive it is to play it.
Whole load of people are about to be very disappointed!

Seems there’s a good chance he’s gone early because of looming VONC and the first Rwanda flight is still some way off. This is Westminster gossip, but given this sudden announcement totally plausible.
Would seem logical, although everyone knew an election was coming at some point this still seems a bit of a snap decision to call it early July, has a feeling his hand was forced. bobbo89 said:

A criticism of Rishi Sunak is that he's poor at politics. You know, the image, the optics, the presentation. Well, that criticism looks rather valid right now, I think. He could have presented his message indoors, in their shiny new media room, without some fools drowning him out with a protest tune. But no, he must have thought the pouring rain and the blaring music was a better look. Says it all really.

It’s either that or he’s heard that Angela Rayner isn’t going to be charged after all. After watching Rishi in action for the last couple of years it’s easy to draw the conclusion that he’s not in control of his party, I think today is perhaps the starkest example.
