It either Jermy or Bagge. Neither are really who Id want to vote for, but I really want to see Truss out, so it’ll probably have to be Jermy. He’s a nice enough guy and to be fair to him, you can often find him litter picking etc around town, but I feel that’s probably where his limits are, local rather than national and thats not such a bad thing. But on the other hand you have Truss, so no contest really.
If only Truss's limits had stayed local. It's astonishing to me me that her seat is projected to be a close run thing. Who's voting for her?
I suspect a very large rump of their continual voting base is pensioners - keen on maintaining a good thing that they've had for 14 years. Inflation-busting pay rises, protected assets etc.
Hasn’t Norfolk got the oldest population in the UK?

East anglia way behind south east and quite a few other areas in terms of median age of population

Not sure by county if Norfolk is an outlier

All the “immigrants” on the north norfolk coast probably drive it up a bit (immigrants = retired people leaving london and other metropolitan areas)

Just checked - North Norfolk has the oldest population but overall east anglia is 6th in the table of median ages in the UK by region

I think N Norfolk where LibDem until 2019, so not sure what that says?

Yes I know. We were just talking about the average age of Norfolk residents.

No idea of sample size - probably less than 1000

I might laugh enough to need medical attention if Truss loses her seat.

Indeed - the look on her face as she stands behind the winning candidate making an acceptance speech may well see me in casualty having laughed my arse off.

However, due to some rather convoluted family logistics I have to be up and on the road by 06:30 on the 5th so I'll be unable to stay up and enjoy the action.

Would be funny if it happened and good riddance if it does.

you do realise the irony that if Liz does lose her seat to reform that it's a win for a candidate to the right of her policies ?

The party won't be able elect them PM though.

Truss needs to be booted out because she hasn't had rhe good grace to go quietly.

Of course. I'm certainly not cheering for Reform. I'll still laugh whoever beats her.
