Was surprised that this was the lead story on the BBC1 news last night and with no suggestion of anything other than he’d got lost. Lancashire police have offered officers to go over to assist.

Yea I've seen this, the girl him and a few others, all given a bag to sell...

He apparently decided to "give" it to himself instead..

I’m still trying to understand why he wouldn’t wait for the bus, which would have left Masca at 10:05am down to Santiago del Teide where he’d have changed bus to Los Cristianos.

Makes zero sense that he’d start walking instead and, even if he had done and headed down the road, he could have flagged down the bus when it caught up with him, depending on what time he set off. Plus there was another bus at 12:30pm that day too.

I’m torn between thinking he’s had a fall and is dead or this is all a massive ruse, and the GoFundMe raises all sorts of suspicions.

People don’t just disappear, although as others have said there are undoubtedly some very dangerous people out there, especially within that scene.

People can be very hard to find, especially in harsh terrain and sadly if they have stopped being a heat source.

Michael Mosley was found after 5 days, and that was on a relatively small island.

In 2002 or 3 I was in Laos when the curfew was rather more strict than it is now Viang Veng was shut at 2230 so I was 20/21 and went with a local to get some weed at 2215. We ended up driving to a village in the middle of no where maybe 30mminutes away, most of the journey in complete darkness as he turned the lights on his Songtaew off as it was past curfew.
I was certain I was going to get kidnapped or murdered in the end I just had a smoke and drank homemade whisky with some guys who spoke 3 words of English between them.

I do think this whole missing lad thing is a bit weird, when did just giving become such a cringe ?
