If it's a religion thing I suspect they will win....

It's likely to be a lot cheaper than paying the crematorium charges....so lots of people would want the d-i-y option.

I don't have a problem with it. As long as it's subject to all the usual Health and Safety wotnots - ie not in someone's back yard or next to a playground, I fail to see any issues. After all, smoke from crematoria goes up into the air, how is this different? (Unless crematoria have, I dunno, chimney filters or something...).

yes Imagine the outrage if a paedo was cremated and his ashes went all over innocent little children. Or isn't that what you meant? nuts

bearing in mind that most house dust is dead skin, a few particles floating about from a funeral pyre isn't really a concern.

Can't they sod off elsewhere and do it? We're supposed to be advancing as a society, but all I see in the UK is pandering to outdated religious beliefs and regression into the past. We'll be burning again witches next to satisfy some African religion.

Oh what a surprise, another immigrant trying to change our laws - if you don't like it, fk off back to Uganda.

How much longer will this crap go on for???

This is a Christian country. Many countries will not let us practice our religion there so why should we have to give in to their demands here.
If our laws do not permit some of their religious practices they have two simple choices. Obey our laws or move to a country which is non-christian!

Do all immigrants have to go to Uganda? It's just they might get a bit upset over there, that's all.

I hope that the vast majority of people on PH would regonise the contribution the Hindi comunity has made to the UK, and if some people want to be cremated in a manner in keeping with their traditions, then why not?
As long as all the health checks etc etc are done I dont see the problem.

We seem to be seeing a lot more of the knee jerk anti imigrant crap on here recently...

Personally I think it would not be a bad way to go.

Assume they don't, and educate them.

As for funeral pyres, it would be a very handy way to dispose of murder victims and other embarassing bodies before the police can investigate.

When your parents die, will you pay for a full service or will you just chuck them into the forest and let nature take its course?
