The blonde? She knew the true identity of the Irish girl who was allegedly killed but had escaped and been given a new life. I suspect blackmail was in her mind. The lecturer did it.

Was a great episode. Love the way Lewis and Hathaway developed and their banter. Some very clever joke lines slipped in and many a nod to Morse.

Thanks for the reply. I thought the blonde woman and her young boyfriend had only just found out that secret and she was murdered later that night? The young boyfriend ran the blackmail note over to the publisher but surely not enough time had passed for the blackmail deal to have occurred?

Good point! I may be a touch out on the blackmail timings there. The book they got signed seemed to confirm their suspicions about the woman.

Oh hang on, the young boyfriend used the words "knife box" (in Gaelic iirc) in his essay which he handed in to the lecturer who was the other Irish party and was codenamed knife box. Hence he was doped with LSD and jumped to his death.

I'm grasping here bit it links somehow...
