I am a self confessed Time Team aficionado and have been watching, even in the face of much opposition from the family, for decades. I even won a Time Team competition many years ago......that's how sad I am!!

But Gods teeth it's dull now. I think it's time for Tony and the guys to hand up their trowels. It pains me to admit it but last night looking in the forest for stuff that wasn't interesting even when the found it was the last straw.

I've watched this for ages as well and this series hasn't been great, missed the one last night but the week before (I think) they were investigating WW2 structures on Jersey. The problem was they had aerial photos of the site from the war which showed exactly what was where so there was no investigating needed, they only did it because Tony was involved in the site some how, switched it off in the end as it was boring.

I always liked it when they were digging Roman remains, finding the remains of huge villas buried just a couple of inches below the surface.

I too watch it all the time. I haven't seen sundays episode just yet, but agree that this series has been lagging a bit.

I believe they had planned to stop after series 15 as they are all getting on a bit, but due to the shows continuing popularity they kept it going.

The extra advert is annoying too mad

It's either that, or they find one bit of wood from which they reconstruct an entire village settlement, knowing exactly what went on there, who was there and that the dog in the village was called frank.

Although I thought the recent Jersey one was quite good.

I gree, but I really enjoy the concept. Can you imagine how good it would be if every piece of land could be geo-phys'd. A huge database of potential sites (and would help the construction industry and council planners with their development plans, but a massive undertaking!

I know what you are all saying, and I have untold guilt for daring to critisise.

I think it's perhaps there is less Mick and more of that boring knob whos name I have forgotten who changes his mind at every moment.

I think perhaps there has been too much modern stuff and fields with nothing in them whatsoever.

I'll keep watching though....and re-runs on obscure channels.

Of the original regulars.

Tony smile
Phil smile
Mick smile
Carenza (where'd she go?)
Stewart (somewhere in a field by himself) smile
John & Chris (dragging a dusty bin over a field at 6am in the rain.) smile
Mick the Twig (nee Dig) - dendrochronologist now smile
Robin Bush - retired (passed away last year) frown
Victor Ambrus (artist) still there - I've got one of his illustrated Dinosaur books from when I was 8 biggrin

The one that changes his mind is Francis Pryor.

What I have noticed is the improvement of ground based data collection (machines, computers etc) and the improvement of representative graphics.

The early ones seemed so amateur compared to new episodes but at least can say the format has remained fairly consistent compared to other programmes or been killed off by changing it too much (for example Scrapheap Challenge).

Have not watched it for ages but caught last weeks episode and quite enjoyed it to be honest.
