Sorry Mods - duplicate of a thread I put in Holidays & Travel:-

Apologies if this has been covered, but Search is down for maintenance.
I reckon the series is fantastic, helps me recall the days in London as a kid on steam trains - loved the smoke belting past the windows. This is why when we go caravanning we ultimately choose a site where we can access steam train journeys.
I think Mr Portillo does the series great justice - his delivery is superb and he is so polite to the people that he speaks to. IMHO just the right man for the job.
What does the panel think?

Yes it was excellent. I only caught the last 6 or 7 episodes, need to watch the first 15.

Great series and also thought Portillo rather good.

Often think his political career ended too soon - could have been very handy on the front benches and a half decent PM. I think I recall that he never once claimed any expenses during his time in Parliament.

There's his problem. How can he represent the majority if he's honest! That's how Nu Labia stayed in. Give everything to the scum (majority) and they will vote for you time and time again.
