Fantastic programme, does not seem like 36 years ago. I wonder how some of todays drivers would get on in those cars.

Brought a lump to my throath, he was my hero as a teenager. Thanks for the heads up. Really enjoyed watching it and it was very true to Graham.

Enjoyed watching that, was 5 years before i was born so never really known that much about that driving era.

The cars looked awesome as well, but those massive spoilers near the end were pretty funny.

Graham Hill was my idol as a boy. His family seem very decent people, and the footage of the racing, and of his witty persona, was great. Catch it on iPlayer for the next week.

The best drivers are still the best drivers, whatever the cars.

Le Mans, the Indy 500 (on his first attempt), the Monaco GP five times, and the F1 World Championship twice. The man was a great driver in a strong field. I loved the shots of the Gold Leaf Lotuses carrying the spindly wings of 1968, and the shots of the cars with the beginnings of low wings and side pods from the early 70s. Many things about the shape of the modern Formula One car derive from the Lotus models of that era, and it was good to see footage of the similarly moustached Colin Chapman as well as Graham Hill. I also liked Hill's tailoring; what a dude!
