Another vague description - name the film

Another challenge for you all, following a conversation I had this evening...
It was a late nineties film, where various bad guys came after a reformed crim looking for something (money?) they thought he had from his past life. If I recall he spent a large amount of the film tied to a chair in the kitchen of his house.
The end of the film was him taking his loot to the airport in a purple Diablo that he liberated from one of the bad guys.
Any ideas? I remember watching it on The Movie Channel many times (when they only had about ten films on loop) but can't really remember if it was any good or not
