No smokey eyed moments or anything like that, but had a quiet couple of seconds after watching the latest Aviva advert.

I think it's the small suprise or shock when you realise what it's about.

Quite sad, a pretty good effort for an advert really.

I won't spoil it for those that have yet to see it.

It's been playing for a few weeks now and on first viewing it really stopped my in my tracks.

Brilliant peice of advertising as it uses a simple emotional response it just doesn't use any tricks or hooks (as such). And Paul Whitehouse really does come across as a great actor at times.

Couldn't work out why my 6 year old daughter was almost in tears in front of the TV the other day, she'd just seen that advert frown

He is a genius Paul whitehouse...I'm confused as to why he hasn't tried more serious stuff...or at least not the sketch based material he's known for...

There was one sketch he did as the old Earl "I'm afwaid I was very, very dwunk".....in which he told a story without the normal incomprehensible rambling bit and went all watery eye'd.... fantastic delivery... not too disimilar to this ad, which I agree is very good, can't help but watch it, each and every time it's on.

Me neither. Very poignant advert from one of the country's best ever funnymen.

Very talented. you tend to concentrate on the comedy, and its only when you look past that you see how convincing an actor he is. He seen to morph into any parts he plays, where some big name actors just one dimensional (yes I'm looking at you Jason Statham).

Me too - but I am an incredibly soppy sod.

It reminds me of the Cancer Research UK adverts from a few years back - the "Magic Mirror" ones.
