So I've seen various commentators slagging off BBC3 over the last few months.

Haven't thought much of it as I tend to stick to a few favorite channels and programmes, but in the last couple of weeks when there hasn't been much on I've found myself tuning in and have watched the likes of:

Ready Steady Drink
Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents
Music, Money and Hip Hop Honeys
Is Oral Sex Safe?
How Drugs Work

Now I get what everyone's on about.

This is not just dross. It's ill-informed, badly researched, poorly made dross. The worst kind!

The 'presenters' and voice-overs seem to be made up of media studies students on job experience.

The lack of informed, factual information in the programmes covering sex and drugs matters has been particularly piss-boiling.

This is the BBC and I'm paying for this crap. It's just not right. I'm off to lie down now so goodnight.

Mongrels was brilliant.

But the vast majority of BBC3 stuff is utter dross

BBc4 on the other hand is most good

BBC 3 is worth it for Being Human alone, one of the best things the BBC make.

This. I don't watch the 'documentary' stuff, but for things like Being Human, Mongrels, Him & Her and the Torchwood and Doctor Who stuff it's great.

Family Guy, Being Human, Mongrels, they do put on some decent films, (Pulp Fiction tonight). Not complete rubbish but I agree about the documentaries, they're not great.

I agree with him. But on the other hand those adverts he is in are fking awful and so cringe making.

How much did they pay him to say 'faulty showers'

"extraordinarily impressive organisation". In other words they waved a large cheque in front of him (well we all would?).

Without wanting to come over all "Why don't you" about it, you do realise that you can switch it off and go and do something else instead? How about a nice book??? Or how about just standing and watching the misses bottom for half and hr while she does the washing up?? (works for me...;-)

Yes, of course I've only got myself to blame , I know that. And secretly there are some programmes on BBC3 I do enjoy (I've even been known to record Snog, Marry, Avoid wink)

I sometimes find myself late at night in front of the box with only the cat for company and I can't help having a surf around to see what trash is on, then the next thing I know, I'm bloody watching it!

And the really stupid thing is I've got David Letterman shows from 6 months ago I haven't yet watched and a Stewart Lee DVD I got before Christmas which hasn't even been out of it's box.

I'm a fool to myself. rolleyes

Strange to let him watch your missus's bottom on a public forum.

....He told the Sunday Mercury newspaper: "The divorce settlement absolutely affects every decision I make professionally.

"I have to earn $1 million a year before I even get to keep a penny and I have to build my professional choices around that fact.

"It annoys me that in my seventies I am having to live in a way I don't choose to live.

"Imagine how much I'd have had to pay Alyce if she had contributed anything to the relationship – such as children or a conversation." ... he's not a bit bitter, is he? laugh

It's because FG is a blanker canvas than AD and even the Cleveland Show. Those latter two have much more tightly defined characters and settings but the makers can do more with FG which keeps it unpredictable and fresh. Although later FG's make me laugh less

Put simply it's because AD and Cleveland Show are utter toss, and FG is great smile

Wasn't it BBC3 that brought us The Mighty Boosh too? That wierdness is reason enough to keep it biggrin
