God dammit...NOOOOOOOO!!

They'll ruin it!

And Colin F'in Farrell as the lead!!???? WHYYYYYYYY!!!

Why can't Hollywood come up with some new, creative films....instead of constantly remaking old classics...and butchering them.

The original was 'classic' Arnie! Cheese and all! But that's why we loved it. This will just be crap.

Very sad!

I guess it's just typical of the way the (ahem) entertainment industry is at the minute. Same with music etc. Just rehashing old stuff.

Colin Farrell as the lead! Did you see that guy in Alexander? He was rubbish. One of the worst films ever made of that genre, mainly due to his poor performance, oh and the crappy script.

Shush you!!

No respect for the ex-Govenator! hehe

Seriously though...I love 'Total Recall', for the same reason I loved Commando; Soo cheesy...such poor acting....and crap story....but god that makes it hilarious & undeniably entertaining!!

They'll try and make this into a serious film....and because of that, it will fall short big time! And in doing so...they'll ruin my chilhood memories biggrin

Hollywood's been annihilating films for years, sadly its something we'll just have to get used to. Endless sequels and poor remakes are becoming the 'in' thing now.

It wouldn't bother me so much if they did the original films 'justice' or improved on them.

But they never do! They always end up being hash jobs, with a quick buck in mind.

I still can't forgive them for completely 'Murdering' the Italian Job!

Also, they're remaking Conan the Barbarian - you just know it'll end up being something like Scorpian King 2.0 - total crap.

Gremlins is also getting a remake!

Originality and innovation - RIP

GFC - studios aren't as willing to risk $100m on new, untried ideas given that a few studios have/nearly sunk over the last few years.

Don't worry, I heard that remake had been put on hold.

Also... in the TR remake, they don't go to Mars. WTF?

If they go back to the original story by Philip K Dick ( "We can remember that for you Wholesale" ) then it might be ok but I suspect not.....

Remakes can be good...personally I quite liked the Italian Job remake, Fistful of Dollars etc.

TR will be good if they stick to the original story more.

Ditto Running Man, would happily see that redone.

Remakes don't detract from teh original, be they good or bad but I wholly agree I'd rather see money pumped into new films..then again, it's not like they're all amazing either...particularly in the sci fi genre..

I think that Conan was remade into a mini-series starring Ralf Mueller as Conan, it was good in a Xena/Hercules cheese way hehe

At least with the 'TWO WEEEEEEKS!' woman we can cast Susan Boyle for some originality laugh

sorry to correct you old boy but the line was (puts beard on)

"cohagen, give these people EEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"

personally i like the line "see you at the partee viktorrr" lol when he rips viktors arms off or indeed "consider that a divorce" when he shoots Sharon Stone dead (she had just said something like "but baby were married")!

Colin will never be as good as Arnie!! hollywood must be desperate as they are remaking all the classics!! i heard they were remaking Scarface a few weeks ago....proper spat me dummy out at that one i assure you!! :-(

Quite. Let's hope so. Even so C Farrell is not a great leading man, and a very poor action hero.

Some remakes or reimaginings can and have been good.

But I hear Clue is getting remade...what the point of that is I never know, the original is a classic.
