Because they spend money on Top Gear and Doctor Who and not into "challenging programming???

This from a Man whose last hits have been Crime Dramas which are ten a penny on TV these days. In fact the only other recent TV hit was a retread of "Bouquet of Barbed Wire". He was good as Hughie Green however.

I think his point is the fact that drama budgets are being cut at the expense of "reality" TV - although BBC is the least worst offender in this instance.

Bring back Eddie Shoestring, I say.

Hmmm, he seemed happy enough with Top Gear when he had something to plug, didn't he?

Loooonnggg time ago, I went out with a girl who used for work for the BBC when that series was being made. He was well known then for being a weapons grade cock.

What a knob, TG makes the BBC a profit, which they can then use to finance more TV programmes/subsidise the licence fee...

He was probably turned down for the role of Dr Who as well.
