Excellent program so far and Brian and Dara make a great combo too plus we get added Mayan and astrology bashing!

It was interesting, and astrology got a prod in the eye.

Typical format for all shows these days, constant info about what's coming up, constant repitition.

About taking pics of the stars the instructions were okay apart from how to actually focus the camera! With my dslr I bring up a live view screen and magnify it to manually focus on the subject.

No preview screen on mine and I think they can only do a generic thing. Getting pics of the moon is fraught with issues through my scope for example, shutter lockup, remote button, no screen for preview etc. So it need trips back and fore to the puter to see how they are.

I thought it was slightly flat and I wasn't convinced the pairing worked. O'Brian wants to be funny all the time.

Maybe they should have got Kate Humble on board?

The woman in Hawaii (Liz, was it?) clearly wasn't listening to the various things that the people she interviewed were telling her, she was just going through the motions trying to remember what she had to say next, before saying "Amazing" or "Excellent", or another superlative.

It had a very "Irish" feel to it, both Daragh and Liz being from my home country smile

Maybe a Springwatch/Autumnwatch format doesn't work that well with astronomy.

It was missing a certain spark.
