As a piece of entertainment (if such a word should be used regarding any film about the horrific nature of WW1?) it was quite good...... if a little bit too 'hollywood' especially about the supposed meeting of him and Brown on the ground
The filmakers certainley weren't too bothered about historical accuracy in many other respects as well.
Personally I thought the CGI aerial stuff was far too unrealistic.

Oh ffs.
The meeting on the ground used to be called "artistic licence" in the creative world, nowadays we whinge it wasnt "real".
If anything I felt it absolutely wasnt Hollywood, the whole film felt very different to a Hollywood film, much more European. The aerial scenes were actually great to watch, very very rare do you get a decent feel of scale and atmosphere, which is what the film majored on.
I thoughly enjoyed watching it.
