New series on tonight after topgear on BBC 2.

Shown at 11pm on BBC HD

Ok it's not Oz and James May which was really good but it could well be worth a watch.

I've been to "The Star Inn", where they got the ginger beer from. We were doing a rail ale trail, and were warned in the previous pub to put our phones to silent before we went in, and that we'd soon see why. All across the bar were phones with nails hammered through them, must have been at least 40, where they had gone off in the pub and the reverend had nailed them up!

Great little pub

I was looking forward to this, but....

I don't know, it just didn't seem to work for me... frown

Not sure whether it was the chemistry between Hugh and Oz, or just the fact that its more or less a re-hash of the previous series, but... well, just a bit disappointing..

or was it me ?

I sky+ the 11pm showing on BBC HD so will watch it later and see what its like.

The chemistry between Oz and James was really good so it'll be disappointing if Hugh lets it down.

Took me years to find the last pub on the 'Topsham 10' and it was the only pub in Topsham they went to, typical!

Where did they get that odd campervan from? It looked like it was on Dutch plates and was also painted in that strange shade of green that only seems to be used on German municipal vehicles.

Really enjoyed the first two episodes of this. I get the impression that Hugh just prefers to drink whatever they have and isn't in the slightest bit interested how it's made.

That's probably a pretty good summary.

Part 3 is on 9pm BBC 2 tonight.

I got the impression that Oz was paying for the series to be made to raise his profile and Hugh was a paid actor.

With hindsight that's what he probably did with James as well - but James commands more money now.

Would be interested if anyone has proof that isn't the case - because I can'ty work out why anyone would have Oz be in the programme at all otherwise - especially with the nearly nude in red silk 'boxer pant' type shot.

Hugh has mentioned milk a few times but no "milky milky" yet.

Hugh gives the impression that he thinks Oz is even more of a w@n ker than James did.

I noticed that Hugh was driving all the time - he did appear to be pissed off with OZ, who gave the impression of always being pissed.
