Blimey, poor old Kirsty had a hard time getting any questions in.

There seemed to be a time delay (must have been via satellite to Suffolk) which didn't help.

Do you not think it was a bit hypocritical of him to complain about the "leaks" in the Sweedish media about him?

Clearly. He stitches up the US Government, and suddenly he is wanted on a sex charge! Call me cynical but......

I honestly think that this chap has mental health issues. I'm all for an open society but doing what he is doing seems just anarchic in nature. It's releasing information for no purpose.

In fact, he is releasing so much that truely important and revealing stuff is being totally lost in the deluge of data.

Clearly buggering politicians counts as sexual assault.

i think the fact govt's find the need to hide so much stuff is more worrying than him releasing it for "the sake of it"

A lot of it is pretty mundane. Who cares what "so and so ambassador" thought of "so and so minister"?

I'm sure that there are gems of information buried amongst the dross but by releasing floods and floods of the stuff the juicy bits have been overwhelmed.
It would have been far more effective if he had reviewed what he had and drip fed the media with the good stuff.

Agree with that 250,000 bits would have kept the media going for decades and the US would have had a job finding out who was leaking the stuff they certainly wouldn't guess on an Auzzie.

Bearing in mind he describes Wikileaks as a "publication" and he is only publishing information provided by others, the decision to publish all the data may be a ploy so nobody can accuse him of being selective or holding back information which may not support his cause.

Wikileaks have a number of partners (newspapers and other news channels) and they decide between themselves which are the most important pieces of information to run a story on so that, in effect, is all most people see but the full data sets are always available on Wikileaks so that anyone can do their own searches and validate the information.

I can't see how else he could do it without risking accusations of data manipulation.
