What better way to deal with Man 'Flu than by watching watch Countdown. I'm just wondering whether any of you saw the number one seed crack the numbers today?

As a starter, he needed 278 from 25 50 75 100 9 and 8.

I missed how it was done - all I saw was the last thing which I think said + 2

How did she do it please? & how did you?

I did it two different ways 50 - 8 = 42 x 9 = 378 -100

or 50 - 9 = 41 x 8 dotto

Well, the number one seed did this:

1. 100 - 8 = 92
2. 92 x 75 + 50 = answer
3. answer / 25 = 276

At stage 2 'Carol' asked him what the answer was for 92 x 75 and he said he didn't know. That's what I find good, the fact he didn't know but knew the result would get him towards the answer.

(I did 75/25 = 3, x 100 = 300. Then 9x8 = 72, - 50 = 22. Finally 300 - 22 = 278)
