For perspective, I like the TV show, I know it's scripted, I know some of the sketches are naff, but I am a fan of the format and especially the interaction of the three presenters.

But the new DVD? Just ste, utter utter ste.

If you like the series but feel that Clarkson bossing the other 2 around and talking over them is annoying, watch this DVD because.... he's not in it.
Now, I'm not saying you should watch it because 'hooray he's not in it' ... you need to see it because you can see just how dull Hammond and May are without him. James May is awesome on his other shows, but in this DVD, they're both just very dull presenters showing a number of pointless skits in a row.

Highlights include:
driving a mondeo with blacked out windows with repetitive obstacles
playing a game where they memorize the dash of a car, then 1 looks away while the other changes one of the switches and the other has to guess which.
Robot Wars with cars looked like it could have been fun, but just wasn't.
Bowler Nemesis should have been good, but it was set in a crap scenario and the main gimmicks have all been done better by Clarkson.

Now, many of you are going to get this for Christmas, I suggest you start telling everyone you know that you've just seen it around a mates house to deter them from buying it for you.

Just piss poor. Get Clarkson's Italian Job instead, it's not great but it is by far the better choice.

Agreed. Worst 'Jezza has a dvd out, we need one too' film ever made.
Terrible stuff aimed at five year olds.
You are missing nothing by not seeing it
I wish I hadn't

I hope this thread survives past xmas, or a new one begins to get more feedback about it, i'd be very shocked to hear any one say they liked it, this could be one of the rare occasions where PH agrees to something.

i received hammonds last one and promptly turned it off after 5 minutes of some bloke on a bike going through a house(?) so that was promptly put in the bin.

I liked the italian job though, but then again i like Clarkson and i like his DVD's

Well to coin a phrase from it I've just watched it from something you may know as a torrent site , but I don't use them so wouldn't know that.

Anyway I was going to start a new thread but used the search function first , alas everything I was thinking has already been typed

Love him or hate him Top Gear is a non entity without Jeremy Clarkson

The Italian Job ( also from the same source ) was mildly entertaining but I doubt I'd spend my hard earned on either, did anyone hear him refer to 'sacked Stig' ? , was that shot done before Ben Collins was revealed and the voice over added after or have they resolved their differences ?

I've also watched Hammond's attempt last year and was very disappointed, similarly May's man-lab on BBC2 has not been half as good as I was expecting.

You know, I read the reviews of the DVD on here and I thought 'it can't be that bad shirley'.

But it was - boring, amateurish & lacking the usual TG chemistry. The f40 & 911/Aston review were ok but the rest of it just awful.

Clarkson is topgear, the other two could be anyone and it would make no difference. I can imagine I will be sitting down christmas morning watching this complete and utter crap frown

The Italian Job is good, much more car-focussed.

Didn't actually pay for it mind but then I could say that about a whole host of things. biggrin

Clarkson/top gear DVD's are always awful, we always get bought on at Christmas, always watch it, knowing full well that it'll be rubbish and then bin them.

It's a tradition

Just watched it, pretty poor.

A couple of minor laughs, if you can ignore the scripted 'accidents'.
