Dexter Season 5 SPOILERS (if you've not seen US episodes)

OK, I'll explain: I'm watching, as perhaps are other PHers in the states, the new series of Dexter It's up to episode 8 as of today, but there's no spoilers for episode 9.
If you're not watching it and are waiting until it's broadcast in the UK, then of course there's spoilers.
So....
What do people think? I think it's on fire so far! Lumen is such a clever character, almost a "Bonnie and Clyde" thing going on. Their bickering over Dan the Dentist was hilarious, as was Masuka's explanation of the deaths. Don't know where they're going with awesome-voice PI man but he's certainly sinister. I wasn't sure about this "reboot" with killing Rita, but it's keeping it fresh. It's definitely changed since Series 1, aside from the main ice truck killer sub-plot each episode's kill was fairly discrete (here's a baddy, sort him out. here's another...) The way they're all linked makes it feel like a massive film. Roll on Episode nine!
I don't know if they'll keep Lumen for the next series. I hope so, but maybe S6 will have it's own major sub-plot. I mean all these kills are about her. What happens when they're gone?

Three options :If she can handle 'it' :
- She becomes permanent and stays around.
If she decides she can't handle it / Dexter slowly revealing his dark passenger to her is more than she thought she was getting herself into :
- Dexter has to kill her
- Dexter lets her go and she goes home
I can't see the last one happening. My moneys on #2.
edited to add : actually shes already seen Dexter doing what he does and he was happy for her to toddle off. Maybe it's actually quite likely. Something to come back and bite him in a later season?

Or, take Dexter's ideologies and leave to set up shop elsewhere.
kING ROBOCOP in it. I like Lumen (and like Julia Stiles - even though she is funny looking) but I can't see her making it to the end of the series.
One guess is she'll freak out or turn 'evil' in some way, like threatening Dexter in some way. Then the audience will empathise with him having to bump her off.
But more likely, she'll be bumped off by someone other than Dexter - a bit like Dokes was.

She's going to kill someone who was innocent.
Then Dexter can kill her as she would come under the scope of the code.
Either that or she gets killed by Jordan.
Either way, there's no way she'll make it to the next series.. It's possible she'll just leave Miami after Dex kills all her captors but that would be a bit lame.

Just watched episode 8 and about to watch 9. I thought that Dexter had learnt to dump the bodies in the gulf streams as to avoid them being found, the fact he was close enough to shore for Robocop to photograph him suggests that he's forgotten this lesson. That or it simply provides a vehicle for the rest of the series. I also doubt very much that with that low light level and at that level of zoom that he'd be able to get that photo to come out at all.

Robocop has to die now.Lumen was always going to die, leaving the door open for the bad guy in the next series to say something like "You can't look after your women can you, Dexter?" while holding his new girlfriend hostage.
