As part of my car room/study (in reality spare room upstairs in my house) I am slowly compiling a library of car films and I just wondered if I had missed any good films that I could add to the list?

So far and in no particular order:

Gone in 60 Seconds
Ronin
Two lane blacktop
Death Race
Bullit
Duel
Initial D
Transporter
Transporter 2
The Driver
Gumball Rally
Fast & The Furious (part of my slutty car collection)
2 Fast 2 Furious (my dirty secret)
Tokyo Drift (more dirty secrets)
Torque (really, really dirty secret)
Mad Max
Mad Max 2
Mad Max 3
Doomsday (purely for the Mad Max homage chase)
American Grafitti
Hell Drivers

So, any other recommendations?

Cheers

RM

C'Etait un Rendevous.

Short (7min) but thanks to the 'net & the "film" being unavailable for years, it's near mythical... wink

To sum up - car drives though Paris at speed with camera low on front bumper...

I still like it though wink

Most of the films I would have listed are already on here but I would like to add:

The French Connection

It's a thought isn't it. But although many Bond films feature great cars and sometimes great chase sequences, do they fall in the remit of a good car film?

Well I feel you must if you are going to include the likes of Doomsday or American Graffiti, Hooper or French Connection which have car scenes, car chases, but with the likes of French Connection is hardly a car film although, it does include an iconic scene the El Way chase, the drugs are hidden in the car.

Anyway he's a few others I'd throw into the mix, The Wraith (Charlie Sheen), Winning (Paul Newman indy melodrama), from Dust to Glory (feature length documentary about Baja), Truth in 24, and probably several Road Trip style films I imagine. Or the Bournes...

> Gone in 60 Seconds.

Both the remake and the original version are worth having.

There's a Gi60S 2 and 3 from the original series. Both are poor. The third attempt especially, as it is just the same stunts re-edited with a couple of new link scenes.

Quentin Tarantino's dialogue does not suit the female voice.

Have the above and there's no shame in liking the original Fast & The Furious....it's not that bad!

As has been previously stated:

Le Mans
Vanshing Point
Maximum Overdrive

There's another film, sure it's French, featuring a 67? Mustang Hardtop that looks pretty good....

If anyone knows what it is, post it biggrin

"The Car" - Great horror movie starring James Brolin. Rubbish acting by most of the cast but the "Bad guy" is worth the watch (designed and built by George Barris)

I know it's track racing rather than chases etc but Days of Thunder should surely make an apperance?
