4 - Never The Twain (Donald Sinden & Windsor Davis)

7 - Slingers Day (Bruce Forsythe)
8 - Brighton Belles (Sheila Hancock, Wendy Craig, Jean Boht & 1 other???)
9 - Bottle Boys (Robin Asquith)
10 - That's My Boy (Mollie Sugden)

Bit before my time those. Goodnight Sweetheart and Birds of a Feather were bad.

Despite Lenny Henry being a terrible stand up (I'm black, did I mention I'm black), Chef was entertaining.

Did Hale and Pace ever do a sit com ?

Shoot me down here, but I truly could not and still cannot ('cause it's still on the bloody TV even now) stand Only Fools And Horses .

Patronising unfunny cringe-worthy crap.

And Last of the Summer Wine was even worse.

The only thing I disagree with you is that you think last of the summer wine is worse. They are both as bad as each other.
I have never heard of any of the ones listed by the OP, and I'm not that young (25)

Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps (or a gun so I can shoot myself), I'm not sure if this is actually meant to be a comedy however, the fact its on repeat so late every night perhaps suggest its been designed as some sort of sleep-inducer for insomniacs.

Just goes to show that one man's comedy tripe is another man's comedy classic.

Whilst I agree that "'Allo 'Allo" was pretty poor fare (in my opinion), I absolutely love "Dad's Army" and the use of English in "Porridge" is almost Shakespeareian at times.

I have a theory that people have a false nostalgia for these kinds of comedies.
At the time they were up to date and the only comedy you could get so naturally they were very popular as there were only 3 channels to choose from and are reminiscent of a significant era of the lives of many.
I think if you rewatched these 'comedies' with a completely open mind you might think they are terrible and not funny.

Porridge is great IMO, still funny today unlike many comedies. It's the sequal that should be on this list...

Dinner ladies is up there as one of the worst. My Hero is st looking back at it (I enjoyed it in my youth) and as mentioned My Family is also ste of the highest order.

Another terrible comedy had Martin Freeman out of the office (I think that's his name) working in a DIY shop. That was awful. The Americans can produce fantastic comedy - Seinfeld for example which is one of those comedies with lines you can't help but quote. They do however top us in the stfactor with the likes of predictable Friends, Joey, Everybody Loves Raymond and the like. At least our poor comedies don't have actors on $1million plus per episode.

coming from a man who works as a chef, i thought 'Chef' was great!!! however im also not struck on his stand up.
