Mods - please leave this one here.

Is it in SOtL where you see the guy cut himself up whilst under the influence of Drugs?
The same guy who gets eaten by the piggies in Hannibal?
Or do you see the drugs/cutting scene at the beginning of Hannibal?

Cheers

Hannibal was such a good read, and really horrific in parts. I first read it on a flight back to the UK from Oz and I couldn't put it down.

As a big fan of Silence Of The Lambs, I remember being really dissappointed with Hannibal when I saw it at the cinema!

Ridley Scott is a great director, but can't help feeling that others could have done a better job and followed the book more closely.

Always felt it was a wasted opportunity to make a really GREAT film!

I agree the book was very good. And the film wasn't. With one exception.

The book left me feeling completely cheated. It read like one of my old Uni papers. The last chapter in the book was like my 'Conclusions' section on my papers. It smacked of:

'It's 4am, I'm tired, I have to hand this in 5 hours, so I'll write a conclusion that has nothing to do with the rest of the paper'.

The book ending was so out of character for Starling that it actually made me pissed off that I'd read the thing. I thought the ending in the film was more in keeping with the characters that the book. I won't spoil it for anyone by explaining the book ending...

Anyway, that's my ramblings...

And breathe...
