Manhunter or Red Dragon?
Discussion
Manhunter was a WAY better film. Red Dragon was only made to cash in on the whole Hannibal Lector phenomenon.
Red Dragon just felt like a film that was churned out to make some quick cash whereas Manhunter was a well made, well acted film (although a little dated now) that was tense and followed the 'feeling' of the book really well.
If I remember correctly around the time of Red Dragon being released Ed Norton was saying that the only reason he did the film (and The Italian Job) was that he was tied into a 3 picture deal and was forced to do it. He didnt like the film and felt like it didnt really need to be made etc.
