Anyone else seen this, I swear that there are 4 million prizes up for grabs for the winner, did I see microsoft corp in there too?

As I'm sat with a glass of wine, in my lounge, and a bike was in the prizes I got confused as to where to put this.

It's ridiculous, takes up quite a lot of time too.

If they cut out the crap, the Gadget Show could be a decent half hour program, instead of a tedious hour long one.

Bit like Fifth Gear really...

I left the lounge made a cup of tea and it was still going. I have restrained myself from entering this time.

ETA It has some good bits but half of it is just stringing it out to fill the time slot. I agree should be 30 minutes in and out.

Hmmm - this'll confuse the mods. TV or computers and gadgets...

Outside bet for holidays and travel.

hehe

I find I like to watch the gadget show on my sofa, which is from habitat, whilst looking for some boating trips to fill the next weekend.

I find it hard to resist entering it, I think I would flog 90% of the prizes on eBay though.
You'd have to build an extension just to store it all! The only option would be to Ebay it.

how about a syndicate? - If you win then the prizes get split amongst the team via lucky dip....

More importantly why have they replaced the lovely Suzy Perry with Gail Porter?

Suzy will be back, she was in hospital for a while!

Better be back soon, I hate that Gail Porter.

I watched this for the first time yesterday. Awful programme - and yes, very like Fifth Gear. I think it's amazing how two programmes about my favourite things - cars and gadgets can be so bad that I turn them off half way through.

"In February 2009, Perry suffered a ruptured ectopic pregnancy two and a half months into her pregnancy. She was taken to West Middlesex Hospital from a London film studio, where after losing four pints of blood she underwent surgery."

I only watch it for Suzy! biggrin

Do you not find it quite good though, what else is on TV for gadgets?

It just makes me realise how good BBC production is when I watch these Channel 5 programmes. I could only watch it using Sky+ as it allows me to skip through all the dross. The camera work is so bad as well - it assumes that the viewer's attention span is so short that he won't want to look at anything for more than a fraction of a second. The presenters also behave like children for some reason.

There were some interesting bits - eg the router test, and the piece about Super8 cameras, but overall I thought it was pretty bad.

I agree with the production, and the camera work is very all over the place.. But they do some good things, good gadgets and well.. Its the only thing on TV about gadgets, other than Click (BBC about 4am) and thats only web stuff.

I love Jon Bentley - he's such a throw back to previous age of TV (and sooooo posh)- must have friends in high places (or run the show himself) to keep in there. But where do they find the others???? Dead right could do a straight swop with 5th gear presenters/style - bl**dy awful.

I got confused during that bit with the dragster.

The sponsor's stickers for "NUTS" kept being blurred out. Yet it wasn't consistent. Sometimes the one on the rear wing was obscured, but the mahoosive one on the side was plain to see, and vice versa. I can only recall one occasion when all three 2NUTS" ads were censored out. Pity they missed the 30 gazillion foot high one on the hoarding in the background.

I couldn't work out if it was a piss take about censorship or just a serious but incompetent attempt to censor an advert for Nuts. Then they censored out Beretta on Bentley's cap. wtf?

Oh yes Gail Porter, her chesticles are just wrong somehow. Bit like that Italian bird who uses hers smashing things in karate-style stunts.
