Just rediscovered this film, which I'd seen once, years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed. Picked it up on DVD and it's pretty good. No-one else seems to have heard of it though!

Michael Caine is superb as the weed-smoking-and-growing Governor of the tropical island on which the film is set, and Billy Connolly also excellent as the 'Freedom Fighter' - to name but two.

Anyone else remember it?

Yes, I remember a scene where they jump from a window onto a bike (in a wild west horse style).

Don't recall anything else though.

Near the end where they do the concert and there's a load of rock stars there helping them out, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton etc, IIRC.

Haven't seen it for years, but always thought it was funny.

Leonard Rossiters last project. Cameo by the guy who played Herman Munster (Fred Gwynne). Fulton Mackay as the minister who was responsible for a population boom and Billy Connoly's rhyming revolutionary. What is not to love? An underestimated British comedy classic.

IIRC his appearance in the film was also part of a TV show he was in called 'In at the deep end' where he and another guy had to do a different job each week.

Excellent film - pity it wasn't successful as it should have been
