Gut feeling is the funny ship has long sailed for Ali G but would like to be proven wrong.

Yep, pretty much echoes my feelings on it. Hoping for the best but expecting the worst!

I remember going to see the original at the pictures with my mates when we were 17, and all of us howling with laughter. Not sure it'll work quite as well 24 years later.

Yeah, can't see this aging well.

There has to be a limit to how far you can take this character, and that limit must have been reached over twenty years ago.

Loved Ali G since the 11 o'clock Show days. Hope this is good but I have reservations... Nice to see the GT turbo in the insta clip though biggrin

100% he will have some diverse sidekick who he will be handing the reigns over to/who will show him the error of his ways and attempt to modernise him. The sidekick will end up being the main character also.

Agreed. At the time there were actual people that aspired to be like Ali G, which was the point of the character.

Still hopeful.

An opportunity for Mr Bean, perhaps. Double the hilarity.

looks better than expected, nice they included some 'youts' because modern city kids talk nothing like ali g, in london its barely a human language

Difference is that this one involves unassuming members of the public, whereas the first ALI G film didn't.

Will be worth a watch, probably raise a few laughs.

To the poster who said that he went with his mates to watch the first one and laughed hard, maybe have a reunion, things like this are better when watching with friends.

I didn't find the trailer funny so will probably avoid it. The first one was funny because it was new.
