Available now on National Geographic. If anyone has made of past 20 minutes, do let me know.

His delivery, the editing, his constant weird hand gesture, the continued pausing and the amateurish acting, I sadly had to put it off.

I visited Pompeii last year so thanks for highlighting this programme. Watched the first episode last night. I agree about Tom Hiddlestone's hand gestures. The acting doesn't bother me too much. I will watch the other two episodes during the week.

Say's he's giving us the facts and uncovering new evidence.

My ass !!! He's just imagining things and making it up, e.g. EP1 the blacksmith scene with the boy walking out from his job.

Worst Pompeii series ever !

My kids enjoyed it. I struggled with his delivery. I actually didn’t mind that he was spinning stories from evidence, as isn’t that what history (at least this long ago) is? Lots of evidence, few facts, many possible interpretations.
