I'm a big Sci-fi fan, but haven't really found much that properly engaged me in terms of TV series etc in the last 10-15 years. (Some of that is down to not being around due to work when some of it was aired)

I still view Babylon 5 as my benchmark for a good sci-fi TV series, (and I'll fight you if you say otherwise! hehe ) but suspect I've missed lots of good stuff.

So... what should I be watching?

biggrin

It depends what you want from your sci-fi

If you want space opera (a la B5), then the only recent TV I 100% recommend is “the Expanse”. You will recognise real physics space combat.

If you also have interest in wider sci-fi (rather than just “future” more “here’s a world you understand with a couple of tweaks”), then;

I thought “pluribus” was a triumph (nice to be treated like an adult rather than be spoon fed.

I also enjoyed “The Peripheral” and I’m currently liking “Boroughs”.

3 body problem worth a look. I loved the books and thought the show was pretty decent. Friends didn’t like it.

Fallout is fun, loses its way/pacing a bit. Still worth a go.

Stranger things has a massive following. I didn’t get on with it.

And for batst; cyberpunk edgerunners. Second season soon

I am one of those that reckons The Expanse is the best sci-fi show ever made.
But it is not the only good sci-fi show in recent years.
If you only watch ‘the best’, you close yourself off from a lot that is good.

Thanks chaps - lots to look at there! smile

I guess the follow up question is...

For all mankind.

An alternative space race that we found very watchable.
