The new punisher special presentation came to Disney plus this morning.

It’s only 45 minutes long, so I thought I’d watch it.

It’s really very good. Seemingly influenced by the “Dirty Laundry” short from a few years ago as well as movies like “the raid” and “Dredd”

It sees the MCU / Daredevil punisher transition into a more comic book accurate version of the character which is probably a good thing.

Not too sure where they go from here though.

Bloody brutal and a great first episode. Unfortunately it's not a series. I think it's the best thing Marvel has done for some time, which makes it even worse knowing it's just a one off.

Dirty Laundry is very good and worth watching, with Thomas Jane as the Punisher again.

Is one last kill a one off then or start of a series?

A one off special. Although if it does well who knows? Disney do like money and Ma Gnuicci still needs to be drop kicked into a burning mansion.

Has anybody mentioned the horrific fx used for one shot in particular. It's the subject of a few internet memes already. I won't say anymore on this so as not to spoil it as you may not notice it but many have.

It's at 32:30 if you're interested.

Just watched it. Never noticed the fx of the scene in question. It’s the sort of thing ppl who go on Reddit talk about, but normal ppl who just watch television don’t.

Do I need to have watched the series to watch this special? I’ve seen all the movies.

It's maybe slightly unfinished but hardly the end of the world.

There's one show I watched where they released an episode with a scene without any of the effects applied at all (as in raw set, all the bluescreen visible) then later released the edit with the right version in it.

Also a long way from some of this dodgy CGI other shows thought was adequate (*cough* Walking Dead deer *cough*)

yes I'm seeing more rumours about a Punisher project, so there's hope.
Also about a Heroes for Hire TV series. Let's hope Finn has spent the last few years training like fk.

I'm still watching series 2. Series 1 was very good, but to say he was supposed to be the best, he didn't half get shot and stabbed a lot.

Watched series 2 and that last episode. The bonkers psychiatrist got on my nerves. I fast forwarded most of her bits.
