It's not often these days to find a good Sitcom but 'Can you Keep a Secret' on BBC1 written by Simon Mayhew-Archer and starring Dawn French and Mark Heap has turned out to be a bit of a gem. Ended up binge-watching the entire series and it's quite a giggle in a silly way. Great characterisations and cast.

Anyone else enjoy it?

Managed a couple of episodes the gave up on it, what a waste of Mark Heap"s considerable talent.

Ah that's a shame. I found it got better as it went on. I think it depends on your humour and can see that it wouldn't appeal to everyone.

Very funny with some awkward bits that are comedy genius and so many twists and turns in the plot like a Fawlty Towers episode. Brilliantly written and acted, French plays it perfectly.
Not often these days you get a sit com that is genuinely hilarious.

Agreed, it's silly but definitely amusing. It depends on your sense of humour and mood obviously. I don't agree that Mark Heap's talent is wasted though many of his parts including this one seem to have an element of Jim from Friday Night Dinner about him.

Yes it felt like an old school program. However it was a little strung out over the 6 episodes.
But we did enjoy it.

I wasnt sure after the first one but stuck with it and I'm glad I did. Not so much for the funny bits but because I just enjoyed the story which was both rather silly and engaging at the same time. Some good people in it too - not just the lead paring but some other good actors.

It's Marmite, but OK as a filler...never going to be a classic.
"it's the mushroom bit on the end' biglaugh
(A rather clean Maestro & their obsession with the new jet washer).

What has amused me throughout are those intense yet ridiculous sidebar discussions arising from nowhere and completely off topic.

Such as something on lines of

"Like that Great Train Robber, Ronnie... who was it?"
"Pickering?"
"Who?"
"Ronnie Pickering"
"Who's Ronnie Pickering?"

I'd forgotten Ronnie Pickering even though it made me think of PH. And Pamela Anderson made me laugh each time the name was said.

I wonder if Custard will get a mention... Perhaps the writers are secret PH'ers.
(Car choice, Jet washer & Ronnie Pickering...)

Clearly we all have different tastes and you might or might not enjoy the whole series - but I think it worked really well from the point of view of the story as much as the laughs. So as I said above, I was undecided after episode 1 but I'm glad I stuck with it.
