Titanic sinks tonight - BBC
Discussion
Bit of an odd one this.
Actors playing the parts of real people and being "interviewed"
It's in 4 parts with at least part 1 on BBC i player and live on BBC 2.
So far I have realised that there were some non whites going abroad on it. That peoples perceptions and memories can differ one from the next.
There is one particularly exciteable curly haired woman talking head keeps popping up with her observations.
Suzannah Lipscomb is in it and adds some intellect to it.

As an event that has had video games and musicals in its honour this docu-drama will have to go some to bring something new, sexy, even interesting, to the Titanic universe.
Being the BBC it's very important that non-white people are sewn into the fabric of every historical event irrespective of their actual relevance, and the miniscule part that their presence played in the narrative.

There was only one known Black family on the Titanic: Joseph Philippe Lemercier Laroche, a Haitian-born engineer, his French wife Juliette, and their two young daughters, Simonne and Louise, travelling to Haiti. While the Laroche family represented the only Black passengers, some Asian passengers and crew, along with a few individuals from other diverse backgrounds (like an Egyptian man and an Australian crew member), were also on board, though statistics for all people of color are scarce.
With so many really poor Titanic documentaries made over the years I was sceptical about this and thought it would be like yet another one of those Channel 4 or 5 efforts, but despite spotting a few simple errors in the first episode, I stuck with it right through and actually found it quite moving in the end.
