A statement from Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed that Mock the Week is to return to TV screens in 2026. It will be produced by Angst Productions and shown on TLC, which goes free-to-air next January to replace HGTV.

Who will be in the cast is not yet known, however.

If it’s as poor a revival as Buzzcocks it won’t be worth watching.

FB has changed! And not for the better!

He now is trying to gaslight that he didn't say some frankly horrible things in the name of comedy, (as is his right) and has become a sort of policeman for what is and isn't acceptable!

And NWO, was basically pretty lazy "the right are terrible, why cant everyone be nice like the left" nonsense.

Though I did notice he did at least call out the various comedians who went to Saudi recently. So maybe he can redeem himself

This series without Daisy Coopef is much better but Mark Lamarr was peak Buzzcocks

I tend to agree but the Simon Amstell best bits compilation on YouTube is hilarious.

If there's no Dara in the chair, there'll be no interest from me!

Knowing how things are going, it'll probably be hosted by Rosie Jones, with Daisy May Cooper and Nish Kumar as team captains

Why? It was about ten years past its sell-by date when the BBC finally canned it. The usual rota of Avalon comedians shoehorning their weak observational comedy in around ‘ad-libbed’ milquetoast comments on the week’s news. Yawn.

If I sound angry about this, it’s because I am. There’s a dearth of quality political satire on UK TV and it’s never been more needed. The best we can do is HIGNFY, which is pretty feeble these days.

What we really need is for TW3 to come back. Trouble is they're all dead. Perhaps AI could do it.

I think my tv is suffering from Romesh screen burn as he’s never off the TV despite me switching over as soon as I see him appear.

20 years ago I would have pointed to Armando Ianucci, but he's got a bad case of the "media liberalism" now and wont attack anything other than Brexit (apparently that's purely a right wing thing) and Reform/Conservatives.

He's not going to go after that pillock from the Greens. And he's not going to attack 2tier or reeves for being literally dangerous to the UK! He might have gone after LibDems but it would have been kid gloves.

Such a fall from grace where he (and the others on Armistice) went after everyone with superb skill

Even this one is good.

I do miss Simon Amstell though! He was a great host!
