It’s that time of year already with the first four celebs revealed today.

Harry Aikines-Aryeetey (Nitro from Gladiators), who was in the Christmas show, Dani Dyer, Alex Kingston and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. And amazingly I’ve heard of all of them so far!

Balvinder Sopal, apparently from Eastenders (there's one each year) - first one I've not heard of. Third of the cast announced already.

Rumours of Delta Goodrem and Natalie Imbruglia being in talks to join. I really hope so, at least that would make it bearable to watch when my partner has it on.

George Clarke, a YouTuber apparently. Nope, me neither.

I'm torn on whether Natalie Imbruglia should do it or not, it might give the wrong impression. getmecoat

Apologies, it was a poor attempt at humourbased around a couple of her song titles.

I've enjoyed strictly over the years but even after I thought last year's was good and recovering from it's previous contraversies. the issues that have since come from that season, I've really not got a lot of motivation for it this year..... Hopefully when it starts proper I will....

Is sit2 on bbc2 remaining the same presenters etc this year?

As I age, Strictly appears to return to our screens far too quickly each year.

We said we’d be out once the drag stars started appearing (which they’ve obviously been desperate to shoe horn in after all the same sex stuff). We’ve nothing against them we just don’t want to watch stuff with our young children with sexual agendas in it.

In reality, it’s my wife’s show to watch so it’ll be down to her and whether she sticks to her guns on the drag issue.

Strictly of course is a massive source of content for the tabloids, not even counting the stuff they make up themselves. Every year they try and stir up something from it, and surely one of these years something properly big is really going to land and cause problems.

Did someone at BBC get the wrong George Clarke and just went with it because he said yes, when they really wanted the Channel 4 house programme George Clarke? I've never heard of Youtube George Clarke either.

Influencer Ellie Goldstein. I'm with the poster above - I genuinely don't get the drag acts, but they do seem quite popular. That's most of the cast now, have to say I don't think I've a more uninspiring one before, unless they're saving the big names until last.

The BBC HYS comments on the line up to now have been pretty negative to the point they have closed the comments despite not having announced everyone.

Thomas Skinner. That famous that the SCD introduction didn’t bother saying what he’s famous for.

Barrel and scraping comes to mind with this year’s line-up.

Thomas Skinner the bosh man? If I’ve got that right I’d say he’s fairly famous (and an all round top bloke)-his apprentice appearance went down in history for all the right reasons.

Genuinely never heard of him, and have no idea what the bosh is all about. Mind you I guess it doesn’t help that I don’t watch The Apprentice.

A bit like Katie Hopkins he took his 15 mins of fame and ran with it (but for better reasons).

I reckon he’ll be a firm favourite no matter his dancing skill.

I’m only slightly concerned that as a bonafide “cheeky chappie” his filter won’t be aligned with the BBC’s and he may spark some controversy.

He did a podcast where he was the interviewee and he was great, well worth listening to if you’re interested in learning about him (as opposed to the PH trope of just saying “WHO?!”).
