We turned off half way through the first episode, we just couldn't grasp it, it was way too complicated.
It appears we aren't the only ones, it's been a bit of a flop by all accounts.
I get why people don't like it, but the whole idea is not about the (over complicated) games, it's about the people playing it, the alliances and betrayals. It appears we aren't the only ones, it's been a bit of a flop by all accounts.
It was a brave idea for a series, but ITV audiences were so confused that they have rescheduled it to once a week.
I've carried on watching it, not for the games, but for the dynamics between the contestants (like Traitors - whose games are mostly just silly - it's all about the contestants). It's an ok watch... though the fact that Tennant can't even be bothered to turn up is a bit of a giveaway

I was debating to watch this seeing as superwoke Tenant was the host - but as he is just a Gamesmaster-esque narrator its not too bad. The last game with the Safari race was at least one I could follow & understand. Most annoying was the Rock Paper Scissors deathmatch with the outcome decided by the other players - seemed totally pointless. May as well have just said the other players have voted you out bye.
I would have preferred if all games were individual rather than becoming a popularity contest.

It'll obviously not get a second season, which is a shame as I'm still enjoying it. Not for the games which are daft and over complicated, but (as mentioned), for the interaction / collaboration / betrayal of the players - which is the whole point of the series.
They just needed to make this clear and the audience may have gone along with it... like Traitors, where it's all about the interaction of the players... but the games can be understood by 5 year olds.
Shame. Close, but no cigar.
As for "I would have preferred if all games were individual rather than becoming a popularity contest".
That's part of the game. Make yourself popular or not as a threat, you won't get kicked out. Eventually everyone will betray - just stay popular as long as you can. If you've ever played the board game 'Diplomacy' you'll know what I mean. (One of the main reasons I watched it... as it's half based on the game).
