Now that Surrallen has chosen his next failed business we must be due a new series, now with Grace Dent instead of “everybody’s favourite market trader”. I can’t find much info or anything in the schedulesexcept a mention somewhere about the end of April. Any updates anyone?

Had a look, couldn't find anything either. Mrs Tickle had it in her head it was starting soon, as mentioned, can't see anything upcoming.

Pushed back, from the Sun after a Google

https://www.thesun.co.uk/tv/33608416/masterchef-re...

The cookery show, which usually airs between February and April, has been fully edited and ready to serve up on BBC One.

But bosses are holding off until they get a full report on Wallace, 60, who stepped back from the series last year after a string of allegations

Bosses should rise above this sort of nonsense and just get on with it. To misquote Blair, 'Greg is Greg'. Because otherwise it just spoils the programme.

 • Gregg hehe
Given that he would have been involved in the majority of the series, I can see why this would be tricky to edit.

It would be 'cancellation' at its finest. By all means don't choose him next time if he's found guilty of whatever it was he did, but the world shouldn't be reinvented retrospectively to appease the 'offended'.

Certainly if I were competitor on the series I'd be well pissed if it wasn't shown! They should just start each episode with a caption that reads "Gregg Wallace is a tt" and then show it.

Oof.

I suspect we won’t see Masterchef 2025 and they’ll just carry on with the Celebrity version now.

Particularly if you were the winner.

I’m sure they shoot enough camera roll from enough angles to redo some voice overs, edit out the mouthy, bald cocksmith and make it politically palatable tv.

It'll go direct to iPlayer. There's no way they'll put it out for broadcast.

That would be a master stroke. Actually there's a good name for any new programme he's able to host.

Going to be hard to re-edit it now as John Torode has been sacked as well.

What a mess.
So is every remark by anyone on TV, on or off camera, over the past 20 years going to be analysed now? There will be nothing left on iPlayer.

It appears so. I’m quite sad about this as I liked JT. I hope Marcus and Monica have been behaving themselves.

Indeed and everybody else!!

So JT can’t remember what he said and the person who he said it to can’t either (apart from they felt upset)

So anything innocent taken out of context could get you sacked 8 years after the event…
