Very much this - also with Alexander Macqueen- Neil’s Dad from The Inbetweeners playing a similarly weird character obsessed with parking permits and CCTV

So who do you reckon is throwing the bricks? I think the female copper.

Really like to know what's under that tree, but I suspect a body is a red herring.

Chris Gascoigne is excellent as the cowboy builder.

The Magpie thing reminds me of this:-

Clearly Alan and the builder were working together, although I have no idea who put the knife in.

Only watching it as it’s filmed on Tyneside.
Pretty standard Channel 5 fare - take your brains out wallpaper TV!

One thing is troubling me is that the houses seem to have a bay window at the front and at the back.

Never seen that before

My street of 1930's semis in London has bay windows front & rear, so it's not that unusual.

So, what did we think, a bit confusing and silly at the end I thought:-

So Alan has suspected his wife Sonia has been knocking off his next door neighbour John. So to get revenge, he schemes a plan with the builder Lee to mess them about, so they eventually gets them to move away.

Alan also terrorises John and Emma, by Killing magpies, but this enrages Nick the security guy as he is a bird lover, so Nick kills Alan with a knife. Emma thinks her husband John has killed him.

Meanwhile Derek dies after a row with John and Emma in his kitchen, Derek's wife Barbara suspects they have done it but keeps her mouth shut, because Derek was a controlling bully, and she is glad to be rid of him.

Sonia nearly kills Nick by bashing him on the back of the head, as he was about to throttle Emma in his CCTV room, but will make a full recovery.

He will keep his gob shut, because he knows that Emma knows that he killed Alan,

Emma has told John to do one, because of his affair with Sonia.

The policewoman PC Gallagher kidnapped John's daughter Beth to get her own back on Emma, because Emma had her suspended.

And builder Lee, still hasn't got his cash......Good.

Yes, that tree thing was definitely a red herring.
