New 4 part series starts tonight at 9pm on ITV1.

A sterling cast including Lucy Boynton and Toby Jones therefore I'm expecting it to be good.

It's one of those stories that keeps getting remade every 15 years lol

On balance I don't find the real story that egregious, she committed a preplanned murder.

Maybe more shocking was what happened to her family in later years, full of tragedy.

I don't suppose ITV will commision a 4 part TV show for poor old Styllou Christofi, the second last woman to be hanged in Britain, old, grizzled and foreign, no media outcry on her behalf for a reprieve , she murdered her daughter-in-law, and just like Ellis, was as guilty as hell.

Watched 3 episodes, just the final one to go. It's good but not as good as I expected with such a good cast.

ETA: Final episode is very good.

Just had a read - actually that would make a great series, cultural clashes etc.

Yes, the complex female dominated back story does lend itself to a modern TV or film treatment.
