My son has put together a short film as a project, but he's also using it as part of the portfolio for uni (Film and Media studies).
He's spent a lot of time and energy on this, but would be grateful to gain a wider audience opinion and initial reaction(s).

Here's the link to the trailer

If you have a moment, please could you have a watch and maybe comment on your views on the YouTube page or here, where i can pass them over to him.
Thank you

TIA

Just had a look,

Doesn't look amateur at all, from a visual point of view. The only thing that gives it away is probably that some of the actors are young/inexperienced.
Plenty of promise being shown, well done from me. (Anonymous old git on the t'internet)

Yep, agree.

It looks very professional and pretty slick to be honest.

It's bloody fantastic! The production quality is better than some commercially available stuff I'm seeing at the moment, granted the actors are a bit green, but that's all in vogue at the moment, it isn't to the detrimental of the film, they don't come across as wooden or not believable.

I saw some filter/light play which I'm always a sucker for, I'm really interested how on presumably a tiny budget they did the special effects like the bus smashing windows etc.

Overall he's living my dream life, I keep trying to get time to start shooting some short films but life is perpetually in the way, it would be my dream to go back to uni as a mature student and do this but I can't afford to not work sadly. Well done him!

It’s very good. I’m not in the industry but my son did this kind of thing for his degree in the similar subject, so I watched lots of his work & that of his fellow students. This is amongst the best I can recall seeing.

It's good. Is Casey Jones your son's name? Like the character from Ninja Turtles? hehe

Has he filmed this?

Thank you for the kind words, I've passed these on and he's so happy to hear this.

Yes, he's filmed this, wrote the script and edited it all.
He's redoing a lot of it again, as one of the kids have dropped out, which left him in a predicament. So, he adapted the story, characters so that he is now able to complete the film.
