I've only watched the first of the 9 episodes but already I've already got the feeling it's going to be very good.

Synopsis:
"The series follows the lives of people growing up in Belfast in the 1970s, 80s and 90s during the Troubles, as well as their involvement in the Provisional Irish Republican Army, and inquiries into the Disappeared (Northern Ireland)."

I've now finished all 9 episodes and I have to say it's compelling viewing.

Only 2 episodes in so far and it's very good - seeing your comment above is reassurance for the remainding episodes.

I'm 3 episodes in. I really don't want to like it because I hate the IRA with every fibre of my being, and Gerry Adams too, but this seems extremely well made.

I was beginning to think I was the only person watching it. smile

After finishing it, it made me go and read up a little on each of the characters.

Thanks for pointing this out. I started watching it the night you posted.

You weren’t wrong, I could tell by 4 mins in it was quality TV! I've watched it all now and its very good and very interesting.

Hahaa, the hardest part of watching it is resisting a Wikipedia deep dive until you’ve finished it! Always a good sign with these shows.

Read the book that this was based on a couple of years back, and thought it was brilliant. So looking forward to watching this! Glad to hear they’ve done it justice.

The registrations on the cars are annoying, mixture of registrations that would never have existed or are from the wrong century.

I watched this over a couple of days after seeing it mentioned on here.

Highly reccommended. Particulary interesting I think to those of us of a certain age who can rememember events such as the Brighton Tory party bombing. Also went down a Wikipedia rabbit hole after.

Some new insights on Gerry Adams for me too.

I hope Gerry Adams is watching it and hating being confirmed as a scumbag terrorist murderer, no matter what the pissy disclaimer at the end of every episode says. It's just a shame knowing that I'll get to the end of the show and he'll still be walking around, the piece of st.
