The thread on the 1st series seems to have been closed but just noticed first episode of 2nd series airs tomorrow night (6th Oct) on BBC1 at 9pm.

Master class IMO. Adeel Akhtar and Michael Socha together is electric, I'd happily just watch those two talking and scrap the rest. Brilliant writing covering a whole bunch of current affairs.

I've just got the final episode to go and I agree, it's very good. In fact, I'm surprised there are so few comments on the thread.

Finally got round to watching the final episode. One of the best series I've watched this year.

Got one more to go, the court episode was stunning, I'm sad its about to end TBH, however pathetic that sounds.
Some incredible writing and acting.

I know what you mean. Most BBC dramas are 6 episodes whereas both series of this are only 5 episodes.

Discovered this recently.

Watched 2 or 3 episodes a night. Finished series 1, two nights ago. Have now watched 3 episodes of series 2.

It passed the test. I stayed awake!

I stumbled upon this in iPlayer, thought I'd give it a go, it was very good. So good I then watched the first series, which I hadn't seen, it was excellent. She was excellent.

Watched the last 2 episodes of series 2 this evening.

Very good. Lots of little relationship inter stories running as well.

I am watching it the old-fashioned way - one episode every Sunday.

I do agree, the writing and acting are utterly superb. When the BBC does something well, they tend to be off-the-scale good. Pity that we have to kiss a lot of frogs in-between.

Can the second series be watched ahead of the first?

I think I saw in the credits, It was actually made by an independent company for ITV Studios.

As said above, S1 & S2 can be watched stand alone as there is no overlap with characters or story and if you do watch S2 first, make sure you go back and watch S1 as it's also exceptionally good.

I've got one more to go, then I'll re watch series 1 as i remember the girl in it was very alluring.
Series 2 has been the best thing I've seen on TV in ages and that includes some very good stuff.
I was part of the thread about the 'nightsleeper' and it was so bad it was good and got a lot of press attention and a large thread mostly saying how bad it was...
Weird isn't how something genuinely good sort of blows under the radar... prof that for me some writers bake in stuff to get noticed amongst the sheer volume of stuff.
