Looks good. I remember seeing the original and the shock on first seeing Barlow. There's another version I don't think I've seen.

There was a Rob Lowe remake back in 2004
Wasn’t very good , no where near the David Soul one

Salems Lot was the first King book I read. My old man reads a lot, and gave it to me and said you need to read that...

Scared the crap out of me back then...

Id read The Stand just before, and and am still in love with that book.

I watched the original when I was a kid so can't remember much about it apart from the flying lad in the window so will probably watch this.

With this and 'Life of Chuck' it's shaping up to be a good Autumn for King fans. Longer term really excited for Welcome to Derry and The Long Walk adaptation.

One of my favourite Stephen King books (and I've read most of them), probably read it every year or two. Just the right combination of story and length.

Will look forward to watching this at some point.

I’m 50, last watched the film many years ago. This scene is the reason that even now if I get into bed and realise as I’m laying there that there’s a gap in the curtains I get up and pull them tightly shut!

Read the book when I was a lad - terrified me.
Re-watched the 1979 3hr miniseries last week. Dated, but not bad. James Mason great in it.

Watched the new film last night. Woeful.

There was a fairly recent series starring Bill Skarsgard related to the Salem's Lot story, that was worth a watch

I have a legit subscription to Max by going through Apple TV - get a VPN, set it to US then create a US Apple account. You can then add Apple gift cards from Amazon.com to your account, then subscribe to Max via the Apple TV app. Make sure to set the Apple TV VPN to US too. Nord has worked pretty well for me. I paid for 12 months which was $200.

Yes, its a bit of a faff but I wanted to watch some other stuff that was only on Max and not on Sky etc. Has worked perfectly. Will give this a watch tomorrow.

Watched this morning. Not a patch on the original.

If you haven't seen the original, this version is a bit meh, a bit more graphic violence and gore where the original was scarier because most of it was in your imagination rather than what you actually saw on the screen.

Pilou Asbæk is no James Mason but the rest of the cast are ok. 5 vampire stakes out of 10.
