The teaseriest of teaser trailers has come out.

So, there will be Xenomorphs, and it will be on Earth.

It's written and directed by Noah Hawley (Fargo and Legion TV series) and the only story details are that it's 30 years before Alien and when a spaceship crash lands on Earth, a group of tactical soldiers make a discovery.

I'm looking forward to it. It will probably be a Disney+ series when it's here.

Edit: fixed the YouTube link.

Cautiously looking forward to this, I wondered if / how the Xeomorph would be part of it, it's set 30 years before Alien, so I'm interested to see how the writers will deal with that.

Certainly interested to see how this turns out, not sure I'll hold out too much hope for it being brilliant.

Chances of this being essentially "Predator" feel awfully high...

I’ll need to revisit the Dark Horse Comic series ‘Earth War’. My memory is a little hazy from when it 12/13 years old.

Difference with those (and the novelisations) is that they're set post-Aliens as a continuation with the Aliens characters & world. They weren't bad as I remember.

If this thing is a prequel to everything it makes no sense except as some way to dodge a relationship to existing IP & having to pay people for it.

When was Alien Vs Predator set? Because isn’t there already loads of Xenomorphs in Antarctica or something? I can’t remember because it was ste and there were a few sequels I didn’t bother with.

2004, so present day at the time of the film. As Predator 1 and 2 were set in their present day (1987 and 1990), was AvP first contact with Xenos on Earth in the film universe?

Alien is set in 2122, Romulus in 2142, Aliens in 2179. So if '30 years before Alien' is 2092 it's around 100 years after Predator and maybe 90 years after Xenos first on Earth.
