Apologies if.in the wrong section, I'm not entirely sure where it belongs.

In my house I have sky broadband and TV, which I'm happy with.

I have a detached "annexe" / outbuilding that has its own phone line and currently has an entirely separate Vodafone broadband.
I'd like to in the annexe but am limited to something through the broadband, my thinking was sky stream and broadband, but ive been led to believe I can't have two separate sky packages in one property (the "annexe" isn't a separate dwelling in terms of meters etc)

What other options are there for me via the phone line / broadband ?

There's a smart TV so things like Netflix, Disney + etc are covered.

Thanks in advance

I have Sky Q in the house, then Apple TV with the Sky Go app in another building. A bit kludgy but it works (except for BBC channels, so need to use iPlayer). Don’t get 4K over Sky Go (or Sky Q mini boxen) if that’s a consideration

You could pick up a Gen 3 (non-4k) Apple TV on eBay for £30

Just to clarify- are you getting sky TV via a dish?

Yes, the sky I have in the house is via sat dish in the garden.

Is it annexe, or an 'Airbnb "annexe"'?

One, you could just use sky go. The other will be a pain in the arse as you don't want them to have any access to your main account.

Cool, wondered as you put annexe in quotation marks.

In that case, sky go will work fine for, iirc, zero extra cost. Non 4k isn't going to be an issue for visiting family.

The quotation marks were because it's not an annexe in the truest context of separate utilities etc.

Sky go won't have the facility for recording ?

Apologies for the bone questions, but I could connect an apple TV or similar into the smart TV that's connected to separate wifi, log into my sky go app and that will enable streaming of TV, netflix etc etc

Sky Go on Apple TV won’t record or allow visitors to view the recordings on your main Sky box

You’d install both Sky Go and Netflix onto the Apple TV box (if your second TV doesn’t have Netflix built in)

My visitors have been watching Sky, Netflix, Discovery +, TF1, Canal + (both France) and France TV on the annex TV (including the Olympics in UHD/4K on France TV)

If you have Sky Q and Sky Broadband (assuming you’re in the UK), you can also install a Sky Q mini box in the annex, which is much easier to use (but does give access to your recordings). There are workarounds without Sky Broadband, but I decided that was more trouble than it was worth

No Sky Broadband. So seems Sky go & Apple TV is way to go.

It works for me, just that the Apple TV remote is rather “unique”

Alternatively get a cheap Xbox/PS4 and put Sky Go on that. We use it with a LG Smart TV and the TV remote controls the Xbox fine.

Is the Annex within wireless range of the main box? So you could put a Sky minibox in the Annex and for an extra tenner a month have Sky Multiscreen?

Unfortunately not.

A lot of useful replies in here, thanks all for the knowledge. Looks like it's a apple TV and sky go combo
