A light hearted thread about sit com characters you've always enjoyed watching.

Mine is definitely inspector Grim from the thin blue line!

I mean there’s so many aren’t there but I’m going to go with Douglas Reynholm in the IT Crowd. Imagine if anybody other than Matt Berry played him, it just wouldn’t be the same as exemplified by Chris Morris playing his father.

Probably all the cast of Dad's Army, never really cared for Allo Allo or HiDe Hi or Get Some In or It Ain't Half Hot.

Ronnie Corbett was good in Sorry. Father Ted and Dougal, of course, The Royle Family and Gavin and Stacey apart from James Corden.

Black Adder of course, not the first series and Niles in Frasier.

Al Bundy,
“Married with children” (at least the early series) was one of the few American sitcoms I found tickled my Brit sense of humour.

Yes yes we are all supposed to hate James Corden, but this is about sitcom characters, so which bit of Smithys character didn't you like??
