Hi - I have a 30 inch monitor that I've plugged a Firestick into in my spare room.

My mother-in-law, a frequent visitor, can't really navigate or understand the Firestick interface and would prefer a simple Sky Like interface instead.

I refuse to get Sky again but does such a Freeview streaming device exist that shows a decent but simple EPG with simple navigation?

Pi + the TV HAT (dirt cheap on Amazon) + TVHeadend to provide a Freeview source then Kodi on something connected to the TV? Does the job if you've got an antenna to hang the Pi off, nice & simple conventional EPG.

I bought a Manhattan Freeview box from Argos for Euro 2024 for 60 quid. Quite slimline and minimalist design, nice modern interface.

Only thing is my signal wasn't good enough for HD football which was the only reason i bought it.

If you have an outdoor aerial or are prepared to play about with inside aerial boosters etc that might be a shout.

Which channels & services are you hoping to access? The ones on Freeview or other streaming services like Prime, Netflix etc?

There is a streaming version of some Freeview channels (BBC, ITV & C4) called Freely but it's early days & seems to only available built in to new TVs from Hisense & some Panasonics:

The old BT freeview boxes are good for this. Easy to pick up on eBay for very little, and unless you go trying to use BT Sport etc aren’t bothered about not being used with a subscription.
